Mathias Kifmann studied economics at the University of Munich and at the London School of Economics. In 1996, he graduated from the University of Munich (Diplom-Volkswirt), before moving to the University of Konstanz. There he completed his doctorate in 2001 and finished his habilitation in 2005. Since March 2006, he is Professor of Economics at the University of Augsburg. Together with Friedrich Breyer and Peter Zweifel he has written the textbook Health Economics. He is associate editor of the Journal of Health Economics.
