Visiting Speaker Prof. Viswanath Venkatesh, PhD

On Friday, May 24th, 2019, Prof. Viswanath Venkatesh will give a talk with the title "Pursuing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals: Lessons Learned from a Project in Villages in India" as part of the Visiting Speaker Seminar Series. The Chair is pleased to welcome him at the University of Augsburg.



The Chair is happy to host Prof. Viswanath Venkatesh (University of Arkansas) as a guest at the Faculty of Business and Economics. Embedded in the Chair’s Visiting Speaker Seminar Series, , Prof. Venkatesh will present the topic " Pursuing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals: Lessons Learned from a Project in Villages in India". The presentation will take place on Friday, May 24th, 2019, at 12 noon in room J 1207. Everyone affiliated to the Faculty of Business and Economics (professors, associates and students) is welcome to join and participate at the presentation.

Prof. Venkatesh focuses in his research on understanding the diffusion of technologies in organizations and society. He explores various aspects of technology implementation in a variety of environments, ranging from organizations in the US to organizations in India to consumers in China and the rural population in India. He has been the most successful scientist in publishing in the major journals for Information Systems (e.g. ISR and MISQ) and Best Paper Awards (e.g. Academy of Management Journal) in several periods, including the last 5, 10 and 15 years (e.g. 2013-'17, 2008-'17, 2003-'17). His works have been cited over 85,000 times (Google Scholar) and over 27,000 times (Web of Science) with an h-index of 70 and an i-10 index of 105. He is regarded as one of the most influential scientists in business and economics (e.g. Thomson Reuters' highlycited.com, Emerald Citations, SSRN).
