The seminar deals with selected topics of digital strategy research which analyzes IT-driven and -enabled strategies and business models of both start-ups and mature organizations. Theoretical models which help to understand digital strategies are paramount. The seminar aims at analyzing selected research articles within this subject area. Moreover, students gain a deeper understanding of the key issues by evaluating additional literature. Writing an individual seminar paper helps students to learn how to structure and analyze scientific problems and how to systematically report them. Thus, the skills acquired in this seminar are crucial for writing a bachelor thesis at the chair.

  • Examination of an important piece of research in the area of digital strategy

  • Analysis of practical implications
  • Structuration, presentation and discussion of the topic

Topics deal with IT-driven and -enabled strategies and business models of both start-ups and mature organizations.

Previous knowledge:

Language: English

Basic knowledge about the topic is helpful.

The participation in a library introduction course is recommended.

Sufficient written and oral language skills in English are necessary for understanding the mostly English literature and for preparing and presenting the results.



Individual readings are assigned during the seminar.
