Curriculum Vitae

Upon completion of his military service with the mountain troopers in Bad Reichenhall, Maximilian v. Welck primarily studied business administration at the WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) in Vienna. He specialized in Finance and in Management Information Systems, in the latter he also wrote his bachelor thesis, which discussed the topic “Privacy Impact Assessments”. Later he completed the master program “Finance and Management” at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. In his master thesis he looked into the influence of microfinance on the wellbeing in poor countries.

During his studies he gained practical experience as a freelancer at ACS Informatik GmbH, Munich - ACS develops software related to data quality solutions - and as an intern at BMW Bank GmbH in Munich and in the Corporate Audit department of BMW AG in the metropolitan area of New York City. Since his graduation in St Andrews Maximilian v. Welck is working as a Business Development Manager at ACS Informatik. Next to his studies he honorary volunteered, beneath other, for Rotary International (Rotary sponsored him a one-year-exchange to India, Pune, during his eleventh grade) and during summer camps of the Order of St. John, for mentally and physically disabled adolescents.

His research interest aims at the set of issues related to the efficient realization of data security and privacy in small and medium-sized enterprises.
